A nonpartisan organization devoted to protecting all Americans' civil rights, regardless of their ethnicity or spiritual and political beliefs.

Amnesty International is one of the oldest, most respected, and most effective international human rights organizations. Their primary purpose is to combat torture, the death penalty, and political and religious persecution throughout the world. They offer numerous ways that you can help in this effort. They are also drawing needed attention to the U.S.'s efforts to exempt American citizens from International Court trials regarding crimes against humanity.

You can write to any of the papers listed, regardless of where you live, however please note that letters to the editor are always more effective–and more likely to be published–if they are in direct response to a specific article or editorial in that newspaper.
